Assess early elementary typing skills for key recognition, finger placement, accuracy, and computer comfort.

Finger Placement

Finds home row and uses some correct fingering.

Attempts home row but frequently uses hunt-and-peck.

Uses only one or two fingers; no home row awareness.

Accuracy

Types assigned words and sentences with very few errors.

Types most words correctly with some errors.

Makes frequent errors; needs to correct often.

Cannot type recognizable words.

Computer Comfort

Uses mouse and keyboard confidently; navigates programs independently.

Can use mouse and keyboard with some assistance.

Needs frequent help with mouse or keyboard.

Is uncomfortable or unwilling to use the computer.
